Summer Sermon Series:  Book of Joshua

              "From Here to There"

The over-arching theme of Joshua is striking out into unknown areas. It‘s about taking God’s people from “Here to There”! “Here" is good enough to settle in. But not at the expense of God’s "There”! The journey requires faith and obedience, overcoming the fortresses (strongholds in our lives) and driving out the destroying enemy inhabitants (sin within us) which will prevent us from living in the full potential of the God’s promises and cause us to fall back to “Here”. A key concept is found in Joshua 3:4 regarding following God’s presence so that “you may know the way for you have not passed this way before.” Joshua, whose name means “Yahweh is salvation” pre-figures the coming of Christ the captain of our souls.

ANCIENT - FUTURE WORSHIP

Ancient-Future worship engages us as we remember that God is holy and worthy of our attention and reflection. As we gather together we seek to recognize God's presence and goodness that deepens our delight in Him, transforming the ways we think and live.

Our worship reflects the traditions that have shaped the historic Christian faith through the retelling of God's story.  Each week as we share in the renewed Ancient Liturgy, songs both old and new, the reading and preaching of the WORD, Prayer, Confession, and the Sacrament of Communion we experience God's extravagant healing grace transforming us to be a people of grace and generosity.
